Jobber vs Housecall Pro — and the One Thing Neither Does
Jobber and Housecall Pro compared on price, users, online booking and payments, plus the one thing neither sells: online booking on its own.
Jobber and Housecall Pro are the two field-service platforms most small home-service businesses end up comparing. Both run the whole job: the customer record, the quote, the schedule, the visit, the invoice and the payment. Both include online booking on their cheapest plan, and both show the customer a price before they book.
They differ in how they price users, how they calculate prices online, and which automation sits on which plan. This guide compares them plan by plan, then covers the one thing neither of them does, which matters most to solo operators and small crews.
Prices and features below were checked against getjobber.com and housecallpro.com on 2 October 2026. Both companies change their plans, so confirm current terms before you buy.
Pricing
Jobber prices its plans by team size. On Jobber’s pricing page, a one-person business sees three plans with one user each, and a team of two to five sees three plans that each include five users. Core is only offered to one-person businesses, and Plus only to teams.
| Jobber plan | Team size | Users included | Billed annually | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Core | Just me | 1 | $29/mo | $49/mo |
| Connect | Just me | 1 | $99/mo | $139/mo |
| Grow | Just me | 1 | $149/mo | $199/mo |
| Connect | 2–5 people | 5 | $149/mo | $199/mo |
| Grow | 2–5 people | 5 | $229/mo | $299/mo |
| Plus | 2–5 people | 5 | $399/mo | $499/mo |
Jobber’s free trial runs 14 days with no credit card required.
Housecall Pro includes more users as the plans go up, and charges $35 a month for each user beyond the MAX plan’s eight (Housecall Pro pricing).
| Housecall Pro plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Users included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $59/mo | $79/mo | 1 |
| Essentials | $149/mo | $189/mo | 5 |
| MAX | $299/mo | $329/mo | 8 |
Housecall Pro’s free trial also runs 14 days with no credit card required, on its MAX plan.
For a one-person business, Jobber Core is the lower entry price: $29 a month against Housecall Pro Basic’s $59, both billed annually. For a team of five, Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials both cost $149 a month billed annually with five users included. Jobber’s Grow plan, which adds job costing and two-way texting, is $229 for the same team.
Online booking
Both platforms put online booking on their entry plan, and both show prices to the customer before they book. The difference is in how that price is set.
Jobber sets one price per service. When a customer books, they choose a service and see “the service description, estimated price and duration” (Jobber Help Center). Most bookings confirm straight away, unless you turn on approval for assessment bookings, in which case the customer waits for you to confirm. Jobber doesn’t take a payment at booking.
Housecall Pro lets customers “book and pay online 24/7 directly from Google or your website” from services in your price book, and you can choose whether prices show. Its Pricing Forms go further: they calculate a price from the customer’s answers, using quantities (bedrooms, bathrooms, hours), ranges (square footage), and add-ons, and customers fill them in as they book (Housecall Pro Help Center).
If online booking that prices by home size or room count matters to you, Housecall Pro’s Pricing Forms do that, and Jobber’s fixed per-service prices don’t. Housecall Pro’s help center doesn’t say which plans include Pricing Forms, so ask before you buy.
Payments, reminders and reviews
Jobber includes invoicing and online payments on every plan. Automated client reminders and “collect payments automatically” start on Connect ($99 a month for one user, billed annually), and two-way texting and job costing start on Grow.
Housecall Pro includes invoicing, payments and review management on every plan. Essentials adds routes, flat-rate pricing and QuickBooks Online sync, and MAX adds recurring service plans for maintenance agreements.
The one thing neither does
Neither Jobber nor Housecall Pro sells online booking on its own. To give customers a way to get a price and book from your website, you sign up for the whole platform: your customer list, scheduling, quotes, invoicing and payments all move into it, and you pay its plan price, which rises with team size.
For a crew that needs dispatch, job costing and invoicing, that is the point of buying one of them. For a solo operator or a two-person team whose real goal is turning website visitors into booked jobs, it means taking on a full operations system to get one feature, and paying more as the team grows.
Where Sorvius fits
Sorvius is built around the booking step. A customer on your website or your booking link enters their details (bedrooms and bathrooms for a clean, lawn size for a mow), sees a price calculated from your rate card, ticks any extras, picks weekly, every-two-weeks, monthly or one-time, chooses a date and saves a card. The card is charged through your own Stripe account after each completed visit, and reminders go out automatically.
Sorvius is $39 a month (Standard) or $79 a month (Pro, which adds deposits, automatic review requests, quote follow-up and three team members), with unlimited bookings on both. Sorvius takes no fee on payments; you pay only Stripe’s processing fees.
It doesn’t have a dispatch board, route optimization, job costing or payroll, and it doesn’t connect to Jobber or Housecall Pro. If your business needs those tools, one of the two platforms above is the better fit.
Which one to choose
Jobber suits you if you want quotes, scheduling, invoicing and automatic payments in one place, you’re starting solo and want the lowest entry price, or you expect to add job costing and two-way texting as you grow.
Housecall Pro suits you if you want online booking that calculates a price from the customer’s answers, review management on every plan, or recurring maintenance plans (on MAX, which includes eight users).
Sorvius suits you if you run a one-to-five person business and what you want most is customers getting a price and booking from your website on their own, with recurring visits charged automatically, and you don’t need a dispatch board or job costing.
